It describes the practice I am continuing to work with, with the encouragement of my teacher, Pema Ch\u00f6dr\u00f6n. She first introduced me to Ezra Bayda&#8217;s writing. He is a senior student of Charlotte Joko Beck and I consider him as a kind of Dharma brother to Ani Pema.<\/p>\n<p>Many people come to meditation practice with the expectation that it will calm them and relieve their stress. Certainly meditation can do this to some extent; even the most superficial meditation practices can induce feelings of calmness.
